Developed in collaboration between Nordic Family Office and SDA Bocconi School of Management, the NextGen Ownership Program is designed specifically for the next generation of family business owners. Whether you’re already involved in your family business or still exploring if—and how—you want to engage, this program provides the knowledge, tools, and insights to help you make informed and responsible decisions about ownership and leadership.
This is not a traditional course, but a learning journey—grounded in peer dialogue, expert perspectives, and a deep relevance to real-world challenges. The program prepares you for your current or future role as both owner and leader.

Who is the program for?

The NextGen Ownership Program is tailored for upcoming family business owners—wherever you are on your journey:

• You who know you’ll take on an ownership or leadership role in your family business
• You who are still exploring what the future may hold
• And you who may not work in the business, but already have—or will take on—ownership responsibilities

Whether you’re early in your career or already bringing experience to the table, the program offers new perspectives, a strong foundation of knowledge, and a deeper understanding of what it means to own and contribute to a family-owned enterprise.

Program Structure

Part 1 – Foundations of Family Ownership

📍 Oslo, Norway
The first part of the program focuses on the personal and strategic foundations of family ownership. Together, we’ll explore:

• The responsibilities and opportunities of owning a family business or wealth
• How to define your direction with purpose and vision
• Family dynamics, values, and identity
• Personal behavior patterns and interpersonal relationships

This module combines in-person gatherings and digital sessions, helping you grow both as an individual and as part of a family system.

Part 2 – Business Understanding and Strategic Insight

📍 Milan, Italy – SDA Bocconi School of Management
Held at one of Europe’s top business schools, the second part includes two intensive 4-day modules, supported by online learning between sessions. With a focus on the unique realities of family businesses, you’ll build competence in:

• Sustainability and ESG
• Leading change and managing conflict
• Capital and risk strategies
• Developing people and talent
• Business development and innovation

You’ll also visit Italian family businesses and family offices, hear from respected leaders, and take part in a Deep Dive Focus Session:

“Venturing with Your Own Family Capital” – a unique opportunity to explore entrepreneurship and venture-building grounded in your family’s capital and values.

This part of the program sharpens your strategic thinking, broadens your perspective on ownership, and prepares you for future leadership.

The first cohort begins in February 2026 in Oslo and concludes in October 2026 in Milan. Places are limited.
